State whether you use carding, air laying, needle punching, thermal bonding or another process. Fiber length, fineness, crimp and finish influence web formation. Include the blend, target basis weight, thickness and production-line requirements.
Select for the finished material
Colored recycled grades may suit concealed felt layers; low-melt fibers can provide thermal bonds; other polyester grades contribute bulk or strength. Evaluate tensile and tear behavior, thickness recovery, filtration or acoustic requirements as relevant. Check the finished construction rather than judging by fiber appearance.
